The Promises of God for Miracles

Exodus 34:10 - For God said, “Behold....before all your people I will perform miracles which have not been produced in all the earth nor among any of the nations; and all the people among whom you live will see the working of the Lord....

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans that I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans for your welfare....

Jeremiah 33:3 - So call upon Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.

1 Corintiians 4:20 - For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power.

1 Chronicles 29:11 - 12 - Blessed are You, O Lord God....Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone.

Genesis 18:14a - ....so is anything too difficult for the Lord?

Numbers 11:23 - ....Is the Lord’s power limited? Now you shall see whether My word will come true for you or not.

1 Corintians 2:9 - Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him.

James 1:17a - For every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights...

Psalm 34:10b - ....and they who seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing.

Psalm 84:11b - ....for no good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

2 Corinthians 1:20 - For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are "Yes!" therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God...!

The above Bible verses contain promises from God that we Christians can appropriate by faith to apply to the visions that we believe that we have gotten from God for the advancement of Jamaica's missions, churches and hospitals. But by what authority can we appropriate them for our visions? Those answers are found in the implication of the following Bible verses....

1 Kings 3:5- The Lord (Jesus) appeared to Solomon....and said, “Ask what you wish Me to give you.”

John 1:14 - The Word became flesh (Jesus)....

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ (who is the Word) is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Hebrews 4:12 - For the Word of God (Jesus) is living and active....

Hebrews 4:2 - But the Word the unbelievers (from the past) heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard.

The implication of these verses is that God's word is just as alive and active today as it was in the past therefore we can ask anything of Jesus that we wish to ask of Him just as did Solomon. Therefore, if we do not go ahead and appropriate God's promises which are in the word that apply to our visions today, we will lose the profit of them for our visions....

Romans 10:17 - Faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ.

Therefore, faith for anything comes from hearing and believing God's word that might regard that particular thing.  Here it is important to know the definition in the Bible for the word "faith"....

Hebrews 11:1 (Amplified Bible) - Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not yet revealed to the senses].

So according to the Biblical meaning of the word faith, when we have faith in our minds now for some miracle or any miracle that we desire and as we hold onto our faith for it without any doubting, we can be assured that we have that miracle that we are hoping for but that we cannot yet physically perceive! In fact, this verse says that in the spirit world we actually have a title deed to that miracle that will be in force until God manifests it in the world of our senses.

Then, one might ask, why does reality seem to teach us that most prayers for miracles go unanswered and we do not get the miracles that we have asked from God? This is a very important question and we have what we believe is an excellent but a rather unorthodox answer to it. We believe that the reason that most prayers for miracles seem to go unanswered is because God has taken the liberty to override our requests for the particular miracles that we are requesting from Him in order to give us better things in the future than the particular miracles that we requested!

Ephesians 3:20 - 21a - Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we can ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory....

Evidence of this dynamic at work in the spirit world is found in the book of Daniel wherein Daniel was praying for God to do the miracle of restoring Jerusalem and the temple but the angel Gabriel was sent to him to give him much more than he was asking for....

Daniel 9:23 - At the beginning of your supplications the command was issued, and I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed; so give heed to the message and gain understanding of the vision (for the restoration of Jerusalem, the temple and also for the "something better" of important information about the end times).

Again, this dynamic may be seen when Solomon asks God only for the miracle of being given an understanding heart to rule His people and to discern good from evil but God overrides his request to also give him something better than that which he asked of Him....

1 Kings 3:13 - I have also given you what you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that there will not be any among the kings like you all your days.

So when we are given something better from God than the particular miracle that we have asked from Him, are we going to complain? No! But we didn't get the miracle that we asked for from Him! So what! We received something better than that which we asked for from Him so it is obvious that no complaint against Him is in order, even though we did not get that particular miracle we were hoping for and stood in faith for.

Here's more on this concept. In the Bible God seems to write us a blank check for any miracle in our lives that we want when Jesus says to us....

Mark 11:24 - Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.

Now how is this explained? When we go beyond just praying and hoping for something into actually believing for a particular miracle and then into standing firm in faith that we already have that particular miracle, most often it just does not manifest! This can be very disappointing and in some cases it has ruined people's faith in God for Him to do miracles for them!

John 4:48 - Jesus said....“Unless you people see signs and wonders, you simply will not believe.”

And when a particular miracle that has been called for and stood for in faith does not manifest, Satan is right there to say to us, "See, you cannot trust the Bible or God to do the things you ask Him to do, so just quit praying for them. You're wasting your time on that miracle stuff. It will never happen!" However, when we are given the understanding that the "only reason" that our called for miracle did not manifest is because God is working on doing better things for us than we could even think of to ask of Him, this revives our hopes and gives us the power to rejoice while we wait for those better things to manifest.

Hebrews 11:39 - 40 - And all these heroes of faith (aforementioned in this major Bible chapter on faith), though they trusted God and won his approval, none of them received all that God had promised them; for God wanted them to wait and share the even better rewards that were prepared for us.

So our foundation's people are believing that Jesus will miraculously provide Jamaica with an expanded healthcare industry consisting of new and refurbished hospitals located all over the island or He will do even better things than that (although what better things than these could be, we cannot yet imagine)!

Hebrews 10:35 - 38 - Therefore, we do not throw away our confidence, which has a great reward. For God wants us to be patient, so that when we have done the will of God, we may receive what was promised. For yet in a very little while, He who is coming will come, and will not delay. But My righteous one shall live by faith!

Habakkuk 2:2 - 3 - And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by. For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day.

Ephesians 3:11 - 12 - To this end also we pray....that our God will count us worthy of our calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power,  so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in us, and us in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
